Barbury Racecourse set out its stall for the season ahead by publishing its programme of 20 races across the three fixtures, starting with the International fixture on Sunday December 15th.
With £4,900 on offer across 7 races, this ranks as the second highest prize fund in Point-to-Point racing, and has produced some excellent winners over its 3 year lifespan. Irish visitors have more than hold their own, and runners have come from as far afield as Yorkshire to compete in the best racing this side of Christmas.
The Vine & Craven consolidates its calendar of two fixtures into one, scheduled for Sunday February 9th. The programme has undergone some alteration since last year including a new Veterans Chase for 10 year olds and up over the extended 3m 6f to complement a similar race at the International and the JM Finn-sponsored Mixed Open - an Area feature race - at the Tedworth.
There are Bumper races at the first two fixtures, limited to 4 & 5 year olds.
