It was a day for Kings as both Barbury trainers scored at Ludlow and Taunton today.

Neil King  and Millie Wonnacott teamed up to give the Burderop trainer his first winner since December, although there's no indication he's been out of form. In the first months of this year, the stable has only had 22 runners, due to ground and weather conditions. And as is so often the case, runners returning after a refreshing break often show their best form for a spell away from the track, provided fiotness is maintained. This was Cheg Gong's first win over the sticks since winning a 1m3f handicap at Windsor last October, shortly after joining the team at Burderop.

Meanwhile, the other King teamed up with regualr rider Tom Bellamy to win yet another Mares race at Ludlow. The volume of mares races has increased considerably these past few seasons, creating opportunities to grow Black Type listings for mares of breeding standard. This was Didonato's third race this season from which she's rewarded connections with two wins and a second. Whilst they may not yet be of importance, she's evidently giving connnections plenty of fun, from afar. And she appears to be improving too.

Sarah Rippon has Sonneofpresenting in the Foxhunter

Entries for the Foxhunter sponsored by Cirencester form St James's Place closed on Monday and were released yesterday. Sadly there's no Wiltshire trainer represented, although Barbury regular Sarah Rippon, based in Moreton-in-Marsh, has entered SonneofPresenting, an open winner at the International fixture back in December 2018. It's difficult to make a compelling case for him given his subsequent form, but he'll lack nothing in enthusiasm even under a professional rider in a fortnight's time.
