The new front-running style of Trueshan, which came to the fore in his scintillating victory at Doncaster at the Leger Meeting, may become his trademark style of running, after another pillar-to-post victory for the popular Barbury stayer in the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp over the weekend.

At a meeting where British-trained runners outpointed their Irish rivals, Hollie Doyle made all, and victory was rarely in doubt as the 9/10 favourite kicked on in the straight to assert his authority over Moon Wolf and 2022 Cesarewitch winner Run for Oscar.

Trueshan only really comes into his own with cut in thr ground, which is why he hasn't measured up to date in the Ascot Gold Cup and other marquee mid-summer staying events. He is in his element in the autumn, and will next head to Ascot for the British Champions Long Distance Cup, a Group I he has already won a remarkable 3 times.

The flagbearer for Barbury is enjoying a golden autumn after doubts about his future emerged in a lacklustre Spring. He faces a tall task in delivering a fourth Long Distance cup however, given the likely presence of Irish Leger runner-up Kyprios and Royal meeting winner Courage Mon Ami.
